Silver Oak Release Party - Summer 2007

Silver Oak holds release parties twice a year: the Saturday closest to the beginning of February (the Napa Valley release) and the Saturday closest to the beginning of August (the Napa Valley release). Release parties are held at both the Oakville and the Geyserville wineries, and which party we choose to attend depends on what kind of party we're in the mood for. We normally go to Geyserville, which is a smaller party with live music and great food. The main attraction for us is that they open library wines at Geyserville because it's a much smaller crowd. It's worth the admission price just for the library wines.

After Silver Oak, we always stop at Geyser Peak for a complimentary tasting in the VIP room (club membership has its privileges). We love Geyser because of the wide variety of wines that they bottle--everything from Cabernet Sauvignon to Tannat to Sparkling Shiraz.
