Christmas in the Park, with Friends!

I've lived in California for 5 years, working in San Jose the entire time. Can you believe I had never been to, or even heard of, Christmas in the Park until this year???? Fortunately, this year some dear friends from the East Bay mentioned their plans to attend so we looked into it and decided to tag along. I think we have a new tradition! For Christmas in the Park, a park in the middle of downtown San Jose, and also some of the surrounding area, is decorated for the holiday. There are rides and displays and carnival food. The local schools each decorate a Christmas tree, as do some local businesses.

Mr. Y and I had a great time!
and got to hang out with our friends D and B, and mini-D.
The Dr. Seuss tree was my favorite
Though this one was certainly imaginative
They were the exceptions, though, as most of the trees were decorated by elementary school children
How to decorate a palm tree for Christmas (these trees surround the outdoor ice skating rink):
Following Christmas in the Park, we all met up for Hawaiian BBQ. B is quite the doting daddy
and D the proud, proud mom
but I stole mini-D every chance I could
A fabulous evening all the way around!
