It's that time of year again, almost forgot to do this! Here are the things I hope to accomplish in 2010, or to at least work toward...
1. to lose that last 15 lb!! Great progress in 2009, just a little more toning to do. Hooray for yoga!
2. to party like a rock star!! Yes, started that in 2009 too, but something tells me 2010 is going to be even better.
3. to kick ass at my new job!! Seems appropriate to start off the new year with a new job, and that's how it's working out for me. Yay for a promotion and raise, yay for still having access to my favorite former coworkers and the SJ Farmers' Market, and yay for a fresh start working in the specialty I love!
4. to look (and smell) like a million bucks! New clothes? check! New hair? check! New fragrance? check! Standing nail appointment? check! Now all I need is plenty of rest and the aforementioned toning and I'm all set.
5. to continue having more life in my life and less on my computer screen. Now this one backfired on me last year, as instead of focusing on my real-life friends I turned my computer friends into real-life friends, but quite frankly it's a trend I'm liking. I've met some wonderful people so far, and while a few haven't turned out to be long-term friends, life is about the journey not the destination so I'm all the better for having given those friendships a shot.
6. to stay in touch with my real-life friends. Yes, adding a new category to account for the loophole in resolution #5. During 2010 I am hoping for trips to Nashville, St. Louis, New York, San Diego and Houston to visit friends (you know who you are).
7. to take a vacation!! Major disappointment of 2009 was the cancellation of our Argentina trip. For 2010 it's Australia, and as soon as I have the vacation time, it's on, damnit!
8. to reclaim my yard. The love/hate relationship with my overly landscaped yard plagued me in 2009, and this year I will conquer that mess! I will fearlessly remove plants I hate, hire help as needed, and finally plant that Meyer lemon tree.
9. to watch less TV! This is the trend, and it will continue.
10. to finish my novel! OK, so it's not the one I started, but the current one really is writing itself. So many, er, characters have entered my life of late and with just a little imagination I can turn my spare time into productive writing time. So nice to have a creative outlet!
11. to get organized! The new wine refrigerator should arrive any day now, and what a task it will be organizing the wine collection. If I can get through that, I can organize everything else in this house!
12. to be fearless. So many changes, so many opportunities, so much fun to be had. This also means remaining true to myself and being honest even when it's not easy to do, standing up for myself and pulling no punches, and generally grabbing life by the balls (figuratively speaking, of course). If ever there was a year to go for it, this is the one!
OK I think that's enough for one year. What about you? ;-)
