I flew back from St. Louis on an 11:52 flight, passing through Denver and landing safely in San Francisco. Unfortunately, my luggage landed safely in Chicago. Lost luggage is such a frequent occurrence for United Airlines that they actually have computer kiosks set up so passengers can process their own claims (gotta love that!).
The problem was that Mr. Y and I were not going home--we were driving directly back to Napa to spend the night with J&J before driving to Alexander Valley Saturday morning to meet up with the Y clan for a weekend of food, wine, spa and fun! So we arranged for my luggage to be delivered to Hotel Healdsburg on Saturday, and we hit the premium outlet mall on our way to J&J's house to get me something to wear in the meantime!

For dinner, Mr. Y selected Pasta Prego, a fabulous little Italian place he had never taken me to before (and I learned that he has been holding out on me--the place is awesome!).

We started with warm, fresh, crusty bread and some fabulous garlic-seasoned dipping oil.

Mr. Y ordered grilled polenta in a fabulous brandy sauce with mushrooms.

I ordered the salad with golden and red beets, mixed greens, goat cheese and roasted almonds in a red wine vinaigrette.

For the main course, J&J ordered ravioli stuffed with ricotta, parmesan and spinach in a citrus cream sauce and the grilled French-cut pork chop with mashed potatoes and vegetables.

Mr. Y ordered the cabernet braised lamb shank

and I ordered penne pasta with smoked chicken, marinated tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil.
When we returned to J&J's house, we had some wine and went to bed, looking forward to a fun weekend of food and wine. =)
