For those who don't know me, I have a thing for different cultures, especially learning about cultural traditions and trying different food. This coworker has a special place in my heart because he and his wife have come such a long way from their African roots--educated in Europe, then finishing up their schooling and settling down here. They are so far from home, and see their family so rarely (I can't even imagine). So it's a real treat to get to go to their home and meet his mom, who he hasn't seen in 2 years before this visit.
I also can't wait to see his new baby, who I haven't seen since they came over for brunch a month or so ago. He's such a cutie (excuse the bad picture, I was holding and photographing him at the same time)!
