Pizz'a for Dinner

When we returned home, Mr. Y stayed in the yard to take care of a couple of issues: the tree trimmings that were ridiculously overflowing our yard waste bin, and the mess some carpenter ants made of our mailbox. Dee and I went inside, where Dee made friends with Posi, and was overwhelmed with the girls' enthusiasm for company.
We decided on pizza for dinner, and settled on my favorite pizza place, Pizz'a Chicago. They're a little pricey for pizza, but the specialty pizzas are inventive and substantial, so they're worth the dietary splurge every once in awhile. As usual, I went on-line to enter our order, and we waited for Pizz'a Chicago to call and confirm recept of the order. Unfortunately, we got distracted watching TV and didn't notice that the usual time for a call-back had lapsed. So 25 minutes later I called them and learned that they had not yet received the order because their fax machine was out of paper. Grrrrrr They said the pizza would arrive in 45 min. or so, which was not good because by now we were starving.

So we made a salad with mixed greens, artichoke hearts, goat cheese and tomatoes and peppers from our garden while we waited for the pizza.

When it finally arrived, it was a little disappointing. Dee wanted the BLT pizza, which appeared on-line to have roma tomatoes and bacon baked onto the pizza, then fresh lettuce tossed in ranch dressing sitting on top. What we received was this (yes, they baked the lettuce under the cheese. ewwwww): At least the other two pizzas came out right. The Sears Tower had onions, red peppers, zucchini, marinated artichoke hearts & black olives.
The White Sox had mozzarella, provolone cheeses, fresh garlic, Roma tomatoes, onions, feta cheese & sundried tomatoes. We also had the Dusty Baker: spinach and artichoke dip spread on top of crusty sourdough and baked. . .
and some chicken wings with bleu cheese dressing: I was sad that Dee's pizza choice was the one that didn't come out right, but at least she enjoyed the rest of the order.
