Day 2 in New York was fun (well, after work was fun). The day passed quickly, between our project, various conference calls and interruptions from my California coworkers who didn't realize I'm working out of town this week. We didn't get to venture out for lunch due to a lunch meeting, which was a little disappointing because I really wanted to try 'Wichcraft (which I had discovered on my walk back to the hotel the night before).
But after work I met up with Mr. Y's childhood friend who had been best man in our wedding, J. J and I took the subway a couple of stops and met his wife, S, at a fabulous Greek restaurant named
Molyvos for dinner.

S and I both enjoyed stuff grape leaves as an appetizer:

J had a salad with gorgeous veggies and a huge slice of feta cheese:

Our entrees were, as follows, cabbage leaves stuffed with ground beef, pork and lamb; fresh roasted fish over assorted vegetables; and my perfectly seasoned roast chicken with roasted vegetables:

The desserts were fabulous, too:

This is their version of baklava--rolled instead of layered (I'm going to have to try this at home):

This was a custard inside phyllo dough and covered in a syrup that tasted like that used to make baklava:

The food was wonderful, and the company was even better. It was so nice catching up with them, the only downside being that Mr. Y should have been here, too. (I tried to convince him to fly on for the weekend but he is really busy at work right now and couldn't take the time off, even for Labor Day weekend.)

After dinner, we parted ways and I headed for the Hyatt. J was surprised that I wanted to walk but I was hoping to tire myself out a little so I could get some sleep. For once I knew where I was going; the street the restaurant was on intersected with 42nd Street at Times Square. Of course, knowing where I was going didn't mean I knew how
far I was going. Times Square looked much closer than it apparently was and I walked and walked and walked.
I didn't even notice until I reached 42nd Street that I had been walking on Broadway.

Finally I arrived back at the hotel at nearly 1 a.m. Unfortunately I was still wide awake, and I finally got to sleep closer to 2 a.m. ::yawning:: I'm so tired, but at least I'm making the most of my trip!
